Herick Campos is 43 years old and lives in Vila Joiosa, an area of high tourism where Benidorm is the economic capital of the Marina Baixa district. He has a broad experience in Tourism, both professional and political, with specialised training in that field and has strong ties with representative from the different areas of the tourism sector.


His ties to the tourism sector began in 1990 in the family business, the Sertorium Campsite in Vila Joiosa, where he occupied different roles with a range of different responsibilities.

He holds an Attestation of Specialisation in “Marketing and Tourism Products” from the UOC-OMT (Open University of Catalonia – World Tourism Organisation) and a University Diploma as “University Expert in Tourism Law ” from the Spanish Open University (UNED).

His life in Vila Joiosa, a municipality on the Costa Blanca and part of the Marina Baixa district, where Benidorm can also be found, has enabled him to discover first hand the tourism resources and the management of one of the main tourism zones in the region and in the whole of Spain. He also has experience dealing with businesses, town and city halls and organisations managing current destinations, such as the Benidorm Tourism Foundation (Visit Benidorm), the Costa Blanca Provincial Tourist Board or the Regional of Valencia Tourism Agency.

This has also allowed him to keep close ties with main associations from the tourisms sector, as well as those of the specialised sectors such as hotels, tourist apartments, campsites and other tourism products.

He has taken part in many meetings in this sector organised by the HOSBEC and CEV, such as the Benidorm Tourism Conference, which has been organised each year since 2014, coordinated by HOSBEC, AVE and CEV. He has also taken part in national events organised by APTUR and the Spanish Campsite Owners Federation. He has also met with the main trade union organisations.

He has closely monitored tourism policies implemented by the Regional Government of Valencia, and knows them intimately, having coordinated them with his head of department since June 2015 at the request of the Spanish Government, both the one presided by Mariano Rajoy and the one currently presided by Pedro Sánchez.
